Venturn, together with MTBS, organised the Hydrogen Value Chain symposium on Thursday, January 12. The main goal of this symposium was to strengthen the knowledge within our own organizations and at the same time to seek an in-depth discussion about this with our strategic business relations.
The developments and the challenges surrounding hydrogen production, storage and transportation were discussed during several knowledge sessions led by expert industry players. The day was split into a morning and afternoon programme with a panel discussion at the end of each block. Interactivity was key: the audience was encouraged to ask questions and to engage in conversation with the speakers.

To meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, of reducing CO2 emissions by 49% in 2030 compared to 1990, the maritime industry must reduce its emissions. Hydrogen is set to play a critical role in the global economy to achieve net zero carbon. As well as providing a low carbon energy source to decarbonize the maritime industry, hydrogen could also be important for conversion, storage and transportation of renewable energy. Ports are seen as cornerstones for the adoption of hydrogen technologies, as they act as backbone infrastructure for hydrogen transport and trade.
